end of year inspiration: running to america

our story bridge loop on a tuesday evening is barely a marathon- in fact, less than a quarter of the 42.2km. however, it never hurts to add some inspiration to the training programme! last week abc played 'running to america' a documentary by goodoil films about the story of 4 indigenous kids from australia and their journey (led by Rob de Castella) to be the first indigenous people to run the new york marathon.
the story had me smiling, in tears and covered in goosebumps. mostly it just made me want to run and continue to encourage others to run too. if you're looking for running inspiration, a story of goodness, pride and a lot of hardwork you still have 1 week to catch this doco on abc iview. make time to curl up on the couch, have some christmas party recovery and watch this (even if you just watch it for the look of amazement on a small town boys face when he sees time square)!

and while we're on the theme of running... you still have 2 1/2 weeks before christmas to make your new years resolutions into habits before we even make it to 2012- get into it early with tuesday runs and friday rides... and you can donate to aief at the same time!
see you friday :)
